MEPS Philosophy

The Story Behind MEPS

MEPS is an acronym for Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual. MEPS' Principal Consultant, Quinn Ferguson, understands the human experience through these four catalysts of life. Each of these lenses informs us about our ourselves, further developing autonomy of our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. It is impossible to consider one's mental state without the influence of the emotional, physical, and spiritual states. Quinn includes all four of these lenses when working with an individual or group. This holistic approach ensures the most accurate representation of performance because it integrates the four foundational lenses of life.

Self-discovery of one's purpose is a powerful tool. Once we know our why then the how becomes clear, endurable, and enticing. A specific purpose allows us to focus on what is most important, which illuminates the process of achieving our long and short term goals. Discovering a purpose takes effort and self-awareness, which are only developed with training. Quinn believes that mental and physical training are the most effective areas to train for performance excellence. Emotions are dictated by our mental and physical states. If we are mentally and physically healthy and productive, then our likelihood of emotional stability and integrity is high.

Spirituality can look like a lot of different things to many people. However, we all hold a worldview which informs who we are. Quinn considers spirituality to be an umbrella over our mental, emotional, and physical states. This is not something that is directly taught, but rather is discovered through focused training and self-reflection of our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. The process of expanding consciousness may lead to greater revelations about the self and the world.
